As the Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Saint John, you will be responsible to “roll up your sleeves” in leading the organization to fulfill its mission of turning industry opportunities into economic growth by connecting people, ideas and investments.  You will leverage your innovative thinking and strategic capability to collaborate and communicate effectively with clients, employees, key partners and with people at all levels within governments.  You will also demonstrate a high degree of integrity, confidentiality and accountability.

You will be the ambassador of Enterprise Saint John. As our highest-profile representative, you will speak for the organization and further its interests as well as those of our partners. You will maintain a positive and professional public image and enhance the Enterprise Saint John brand.

Key Responsibilities:
Create an environment that fosters starting, expanding, retaining and attracting more businesses to the Greater Saint John region.
Establish exceptional working relationships and collaborative arrangements with employees, partners, community groups, politicians, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization.
Provide leadership in developing and delivering programs and organizational and financial plans with the staff and Board of Directors.
Participate with the Board of Directors in evolving the vision and strategic plan that guides the organization.
Provide strategic leadership that brings value to our partners and supports the objective of Canada’s Most Connected Community.
Be accountable for achieving the desired results of Canada’s Most Connected Community through clear and measurable objectives.
Strengthen and effectively articulate the “value proposition” that Enterprise Saint John offers partners and the greater community.
Monitor adherence to the budget and approve expenditures within the authority delegated by the Board.
Provide exemplary leadership to the employees through the adoption of key Human Resource practices and policies, and by maintaining a positive and collaborative culture.
Other duties as assigned.
Post-Secondary Education:
7+ years of experience in a senior management role.
Demonstrated success as a business leader in delivering on objectives.
Demonstrated ability to establish and manage key relationships with the board/executive committee, team, partners, community groups and clients.
Strong knowledge of fiscal management and responsibility, business finance, capital funding, contracts, and partnerships.
Sound understanding of risk management.
A well-defined sense of political acumen, solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
Exemplary communication skills – both verbal and written.
Bilingualism an asset but not a requirement.
