Our Navigator program, including four learning components designed to ensure entrepreneurs have the best shot at success. We offer four distinct programs that encompass a range of services to guide entrepreneurs to success in the Saint John region and broader ecosystem.

 

Enterprise Saint John Discovery Sessions

The Enterprise Saint John Discovery Session is designed for anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit, who wants to learn more about ESJ’s entrepreneurial services. Come on in and tell us about your business idea! Our Entrepreneur Development Coordinator will help you choose the best course for your needs.

Navigator 1: Venture Validation Program



Venture Validation Program is an applied learning course, built to move emerging entrepreneurs from idea to launch. The course uses a combination of workshops, one-on-one mentoring and pitch nights to hone skills and build a competitive yet collaborative group. Participants are held accountable for weekly deliverables.

You will learn how to:
– create a value proposition,
– identify your customers and competition
– clarify startup and operation costs
– define the market opportunity
– create a business model

Navigator 2: Incubator 

Incubator offers long-term support to early-stage technology startups.  Companies that are developing and commercializing technology, seeking their first round of financing and/or conducting proof of concept projects are ideal candidates. Participants are supported by an Entrepreneur-in-Residence to help them achieve their goals. The incubator strives to provide the ideal environment for starting a technology company.

– weekly mentoring sessions from our Entrepreneur-in-Residence
– access to networking opportunities

Navigator 3: Kickstart Your Business

Kickstart your Business is a business networking and skills development course led by local experts, and designed specifically for new business owners.

You will learn about:
– business finance
– sales
– marketing
– social media
– refining your business pitch

Class size: 15 max
Length: 8 weeks
Frequency: once per year

Cost: $350 (taxes included)

Navigator 4: Impact Loan

The Impact Loan, formerly known as the SEED loan, is a loan fund for the development of business in the urban Saint John area. In addition to capital, the program also offers free business management skills training for successful applicants.

An Impact Loan Review Meeting is held in the morning of the final Wednesday of every month.  Applications must be submitted nine (9) business days prior to the meeting. To find out more information and apply,  go to www.impactatlantic.ca .

Eligibility: Entrepreneurs living in the Saint John area, who are starting a business. If you live outside the urban Saint John area, you may contact your local Community Business Development Corporation (CBDC) for similar funding programs.

Amount: Up to $25,000
Terms:
5-year term at 2% + prime, interest free for 12 months.
